Who's ever shipped a COMPLETE floorpan?

Gonna buy one...I just dunno who to use to ship it. It's going from a private seller to myself.

Also, what's the relative cost of shipping one? It's a COMPLETE, including the head, and rear suspension. Basically bolt on my body, front suspension, wheels and go. Like a rolling chassis, only it's missing the front suspension.

I have no clue how much the weight is either....so I can't really call around and get a quote.

Anybody? Reccomendations on who to use for the cheapest freight?

if it was within a reasonable driving distance i would go get it my self if you could. awhile back i looked into importing a car from australia and it was gonna run a tad over 2 grand to get it to the west coast and then about a grand to bring it to me in indiana. and if the car did not run it was gonna cost more due to it having to be crated to be moved by a lift. my cost was figured on size and not weight so i would assume a floor pan would be close to the same since it is the same size as a car. i know you are not coming from overseas but i would still think close to a grand if it was any considerable distance.

It's on the otherside of the country. Colorado -> Florida...so driving is out of the question..... If it were in like Alabama or something that could be achieved in 16 hours or less one way, I'de rent a U-Haul and just go for it....

This is kind of a silly response to your question, but personally I would find a pan closer to your location rather than shipping one right across the country.

Unless there is something super special about this particular pan, such as it's a 1948 pan that is complete for your Heb restoration or something...

It's not like beetle pads are rare or something.

I was thinking that too, I just couldn't find the right words.

What's special about this pan?

I had a friend who had a car shipped inter-state for really cheap. he found a car hauler with an extra space that was already making the trip, and they just strapped it on and went.

I'll ask what who he used and get back to you.
