Hi

I want to lower my `72 1302 bug
I have lowered springs (8cm) but cant find shocks

can i do it 'home-alone' or have i buy it?
does it mean that standard shock absorber doesnt 'touch' the down of column hole?

how can i do it?

wether or not you can do it yourself depens on how good you can fabricate and weld, and how good your understanding of mechanics is. if you have too ask then prob better to buy some. I tryed using my car (early 1303) with about 85mm lowered front and standard struts and was real bad, bottoming out on every little bump, jus plain dangerous imo. also worth noting is the angle of track control arm. too low and it points up at the wheel end, not good. there's plenty of people out there with lowered 1302's 3's. so can be done.
