Finally, some pictures
I've been bugging ... no pun intended, but not deleted either ... y'all for advice. Along the way, I've been asked for pics. Finally, they are here.
Just to prove I'm not just Mr. Technoklutz when it comes to cars, my intallation pics didn't turn out when using my daughter's fancy schmantzy digital camera. Here is The Shantung Cruiser after Phase One. Phase One consisted of a schlew of TopLine items like front and rear disc brakes, MaXX struts, front and rear anti-sway bars, and other stuff I don't remember off the top of my head. This stuff has "settled in" very nicely. Spirited driving is fantastic on winding roads and interstates -- despite a very pedestrian stock motor. Phase One also included the BBS wheels from the Wolfsburg Edition of the Jetta (USA) as well as the machining, tires and spacers necessary. Phase Two will be the interior such as seats, panels and a steering wheel. Phase Three will be other interior mods -- mostly gauges, fire extinguishers and such. Phase Four will be a Type IV engine and compatible drivetrain. I want to thank everyone here and at superbeetlesonly.com for helping me through. In fact, I will thank everyone here and at SBO!. Thank you very much. (tears of joy) Without further ado, here are some pics: Last edited by oasis; May 22nd 2005 at 19:46. Reason: grammar glitches |

The clear turn signals, the Hella H4 headlamps, pop-out windows and such are not really a part of any "phase." There other items which will be added along the way in the same category.
