Smile Finally, some pictures

I've been bugging ... no pun intended, but not deleted either ... y'all for advice. Along the way, I've been asked for pics. Finally, they are here.

Just to prove I'm not just Mr. Technoklutz when it comes to cars, my intallation pics didn't turn out when using my daughter's fancy schmantzy digital camera.

Here is The Shantung Cruiser after Phase One. Phase One consisted of a schlew of TopLine items like front and rear disc brakes, MaXX struts, front and rear anti-sway bars, and other stuff I don't remember off the top of my head. This stuff has "settled in" very nicely. Spirited driving is fantastic on winding roads and interstates -- despite a very pedestrian stock motor.

Phase One also included the BBS wheels from the Wolfsburg Edition of the Jetta (USA) as well as the machining, tires and spacers necessary. Phase Two will be the interior such as seats, panels and a steering wheel. Phase Three will be other interior mods -- mostly gauges, fire extinguishers and such. Phase Four will be a Type IV engine and compatible drivetrain.

I want to thank everyone here and at superbeetlesonly.com for helping me through. In fact, I will thank everyone here and at SBO!.

Thank you very much. (tears of joy)

Without further ado, here are some pics:

The clear turn signals, the Hella H4 headlamps, pop-out windows and such are not really a part of any "phase." There other items which will be added along the way in the same category.

I really like the classic lines of the 1302. A very clean looking GL. The liscence plate, I like.

Thanks for the compliments. It drives so much better. I feel like I owe everyone a ride or something.

Thanks.

Next item will be seats. I'm 95% sure of what I want. I want to do some measuring to be sure. That's part of Phase Two -- The Interior, Part One. I will also update the door panels and the steering wheel. I'd like to get a Hurst shifter, too. I was sniped on eBay on a beauty a few weeks ago but I will keep looking.

I also have a Kamei spoiler on order. If it doesn't hang too low or wobble to and fro, I will install that with new or reconditioned bumpers after being painted to match. I also have plans for carbon fiber/kevlar running boards and, maybe, headlight rings. They're part of no phase as such.

(I guess I used too many smilies ... my post, continued....)

Phase Three is the remainder of the interior. There are so many of you with great dashes and stereo set-ups. I'm still undecided there.

Phase Four is a Type IV. I'm saving my nickles.

My daily commute is not complete until I visit here.
