TDI trouble
Well the wifes Jetta TDI jumped timing yesterday and #1 piston had it's way with the valves. I had just done the tming belt this past summer and I tripple checked everything when I did it. Not 6 months later it jumps 2 teeth and died. I started to tear it down today and pulled the cam to see if the valves got bent and #1 intake is stuck. I don't need this right now but here we go.

That s-u-c-k-s. How many miles does it have total? Could the tensioner have gone bad (if it has one)? Hard to believe the belt stretched in such a short time. Don't forget to check over at Fred's site for some feedback. www.tdiclub.com

Sorry to hear that.
It seems like your car picks the worst times to break down.

The car has about 88,000 on it and i did a timing belt and tensioner at 85,000. I think it was the tensioner that failed. It only jumped 1 or 2 teeth but that is all it takes at 20:1. When I get back from Jakes (up here now) I will tear the head off.
