Bamberjim,

Corbeau, makes a seat rail for the bug, may want to check and see if it will work for you..

Hi Bamberjim,

If I can give my 3 penny worth. The bug 3 point fitting is IMO dreadful in that it is quite unstable and not a base suitable for any sports seat. On our '03 Super we created a subframe onto which standard universal type runners fit. The whole thing is quite rigid and gives the confidence that the seat is not going to break away as the 3 point fixing does.

I'm with Clive on this, the later 3 point seat mounts suck and I've been fighting with them for a while. Corbeau does have a seat bracket and I'm using it in the race bug but the seat position is pretty high and needs to be about 3" lower (I'm 6' btw). I would highly recommend cutting out the 3rd mount and fabricating one or finding a universal mount that works.

@Humble..

On my car I swapped to earlier SB pans so I can run the pre 74 3 point setup.. Any idea how the seating position is on these..

Thanks
Alex

I used the corbeau seat frames in my old 72 super race chassis and while they were still a little too tall for my tastes they weren't nearly as bad as the 3 point style. I think the best way is to fabricate your own mounts that way you can get the perfect seating position. You might be able to use a universal seat mount and reinforce the pan or weld tabs to the heater channel and center tunnel.

Actually I still have a set for a 71-72 super that you might be able to modify to suit your needs if you want them.
