You have power to the coil, but do you have power from the coil as well?

If you hook the pertronics up backwards for any reason, it will instantly fry.
I did that once on my dune buggy,
RIP pertronic

I recently had a problem in my 911, it suddenly died and did'nt have any spark, turns out the coil was fried.
It was because the msd multi spark cdi I was using wasn't supposed to be used with a bosch silver coil. I ran out and got an MSD 8222 coil and now she runs like a champ. What kind of electronic ignition are you using? it is possible that it might have damaged your coil.

you shouldnt have to run out and buy another coil, just get a stock vw coil and try it, you will know right away cause it will try to start up unless your timing or firing order is not right.

Maybe if you took a pic of your setup we might be able to see if you forgot something. Just turn it over to TDC and pull the rotor cap off.

Btw I have extra coils if you need one.
