Fender well patches
So I'm doing a pan off resto on a 69 type 1 standard and I come across bondo on the rear luggage tray. It lines the fender wells and covers to spots on the luggage try. As I go out side to look under the fenders I come across two patches in the fender wells from the outside and eachside are different. Is this normal?? bare with me as this is my first resto of a vdub.Any suggestions what these are? and do you guys have any comments on how should I go about fixing ( i.e. redue the bondo seeing its a bad job, or get a welder to go to work on it) and info would be much appreciated..??

The "bondo" on the fender wells and luggage tray is factory seam sealer. Leave it since the carpet and trim covers it. And those aren't repair patches. They are the original body panels. You can see them here on my '69...

ah and a sigh of relief comes over me... I thought that also about the patches but the left and right are different and there some small body damage ( a 2 inch push in about 8 inch long right where the fender meet the body on the left rear fender) so it got me thinking...
