DDD4 pictures
Lend somewhere from the site of our 'neighbours' www.german-spirit.com:
http://olivier.lecorre.club.fr/galer.../bitburg06.htm Most all of them are very good pictures and they had 'german' written all over them, which is outstanding, given its mostly a callook/old-style look meeting. This is my favorit for many reasons: Its a Gelb-schwarzem Renner (special limited 1303 edition only in Germany) with a 2,6 ltr type 4 with Riechert horizontal cooling, that was build 25 years ago, has never been apart and still delivers very fast 1/4 mile times. Don't know the exact times tho.. but when you can make a wheelie with a full weight street legal 1303, you have my respect Oh, I participated also, but not quite that spectacular, but had great fun nonetheless: Greetings, Walter |

Very nice, Walter. The GSR and its American cousin, the Sports Bug, is a favorite at SBO!. They will enjoy the link.
Oh, and I like the other pic, too. |

That red/burgundy bug is insane. I think those are Moton shocks all around, an option that probably costs about as much as a stock bug!

@ Jonas: It was my first ever official 1/4 mile and I managed 16,0 sheer weight, the very mild Web 86, the 11,4 A/F ratio at full throttle and street tires were not helping, but the fun was nonetheless I did drove 36,8 MPG on the way back home hehe. (with a thursty 12,4 AFR) Last edited by Wally; August 17th 2006 at 03:04. |

i think the most odd thing is the blue second gen camaro. all i could hear in my head was that song from sesame street "one of these things are not like the other, some of these things are kinda the same"

Yes! Great pics! Thanks for sharing!
Soooo many questions about that burgundy/candy apple bug... but mostly, on the front susp pics, is that some sort of adjustable caster setup?? I'm looking at the pic that shows the rear side of the front susp and there is an adjustable rod tied to the beam and running rearward to the pan. Why would you need to dial in the caster often enough to have an elaborate setup like this? Thanks for edumacatin' the dummy. Jeff-

I think that there's probably a little more to it than your 'judgement' from a picture taken from under a car...
This guy does not do things for the wow factor. I thought a member of the 'GermanLook' forum above all would understand this. |

I could see wanting to add (or is negative take away?) a little caster for a track with more long straights than short curves, and vice versa for a short track with no straights, but this thing looks a little beyond even that explanation. Make no mistake, I think the car is freakin' AWESOME! I just wanted to learn about some of the neat engineering. Not denying the guy is a fabrication master. Jeff-

I have seen the car in person and spoke with the guy in german for some time about his car. Torsion bar front ends really do not interest me at all, so that was not my point of interest when we spoke about his car... The whole car IS pure german-style, believe me at least on that one |
