Hey guys.
I got tired of seeing all you guys having fun with your fat chicks so I gave in and picked one up.
Plan is Porsche Raspberry paint, white interior (will truly be the wife's car). On the fence about going Cal-Look (keep the rims and do 145's on the front and a bit smaller tire on the back than what is on now), or doing Turbo Twists, polished. If I go that route, do I do 17x7 all around or 17x9 in the back with wider fenders... I will also run the Mexican bumper in the front and a bumper in the rear color matched to the body. Engine is currently a 1641 which will stay for now, just get it cleaned up, check compression, etc.
What do you all think?

Looks good! Making room in the garage? When does it go for paint? To my understanding, 17x7 is as wide as you can go at the back before wider fenders. Our boy Lanner will know

It's his wife's car Laurie, so until he gets a car roadworthy, I guess she'll be showing up at all the events in his place

Roadworthy? I have a '65 bus, and a '65 notch both on the road.
Lack of presence at some shows and other events is more related to family than anything VW.
The '73 will go into my storage unit until the '59 is back on the road, the '58 vert is sold, and perhaps the '65 notch is sold so I can pay back the bank and some people I owe...... Definitey in no rush whatsoever for this car. I have the base for my next project and that is good enough for me.
I do however need to talk to Lanner about the rims, and fitting some Golf calipers I have to the front of the car.
Keep the input coming boys!

C'mon Pete, that flame job is the tits man!!! Previous owner told me he dented the fender, so he fixed it and instead of painting the whole thing and trying to color match, he did the flames.
And good point Alex. But I do have a few hours into the bus, it feels like I built it. I have new floors for the '73 to be welded in within a week or 2, then into storage until the dust settles around here.
