Subaru Impreza STI Engine?? Turbo

Hello to all
I am located in Osaka Japan and have found a STi Impressa engine. Low milage about 56000km. What are these worth???
Cars rarely see the 100,000km mark due to taxes and regular up keep. And the car companies brain wash the people telling them they are old etc.
Have found some Forester engine too. They look the same, I think they were a little larger(2.5L) than the Imprezas. Same size as the Legacys..
Is this a difficult install??

Cheers
Dean

my engine is the JDM 02 sti model, get one of those & i should be able to tell u everything u need 2 know about physically fitting it in

oh, & i paid $3500AUD for mine complete, just needed the loom modified to suit after that - seems i got a good price compared to others in aus though

Try to get all the stuff with it. Unless you want to use an aftermarket ECU, you'll need the complete wiring harness including the stock ECU. Basically the more crap you can get with it the better. It's all the small things that cost the most money. And you'll need an adaptor as well... and a stronger gearbox if you decide to use the STi motor.... Is the Forrester a turbo or NA ?

man I wish mine was that cheap... I would move on it as long as you know it turns, but you really want to get all the extra bits that come with it.

Be careful.
The engine in question is...

A 2.0, twin scroll turbo charger, VF36 model- with a cast block and forged internals, large semi-hemi heads (shallow dish) and good sized ports.

Heres why I say be careful:
1. Those turbos=2000 USD
2. It would not be that cheap if it was a great/good engine, those usually sell for about.... 2000?
