Oldskool1303

Hey guys this is the first car I bought and have been trying to restore it for the past five years. After seeing a few German lookers on Hot Vws, with the kamei spoilers, carbon fiber running boards/ door panels, porsche cup rims, and type 4 engines with a 911 fan conversion kits. Made me want to redo my super beetle.
This is what it looked like before:

Since then I Lowered the stance and upgraded the suspension with Maxx struts.

I also managed to find these rims and tires for a great price.

While at work I seen a Bmw M3 with green Volks racing rims....that got me thinking and thought that color scheme would look unique and Awesome. So I sent my wheels to get powder coated GREEN.

I decided to fiberglass my dash board since it had many weather cracks, It was kind of an eye sore to look at while driving. I scrapped most of the vinyl off and applied the fiberglass.

after applying the fiberglass

I let the fiberglass cure for a day before sanding it smooth.

Once it was silky smooth I applied two coats of primer.
I wasn't able to find the picture of it primered. But here I am applying the first coat of satin black.

The finish product of the dash.

It came out better then I expected
I also bought an NRG quick release hub from a friend of mine and a new steering wheel. And I almost forgot to mention a new Tach.

yeah thanks! everyone keeps asking where I got my dash

I also got an idea on a third brake light incorporated into the bumper by using a 67 reverse light.( my dog wanted to be in the picture)

Here it is at night with my HID's

I got a 1.7 914 longblock going to tear it down and rebuild it with 96 p/c and bigger vavles within the next few months. And got a LA performance Horizontal fan shroud

a couple of weeks after receiving the Fan shroud, I purchased a 11 blade fan and alternator for a very cheap price.
