My project : Mexico Racer

Hello all !
First, sorry for my english language, i'm a froggy !!!
So, my car is a 1984 mexico beetle. I bought it last year in july and the first thing to do were the rear brakes. I rebuilt the whole circuit brakes with new parts from Germany only ! Then I bought 4 16" rims Porsche Boxster with 175/50/16 front and 195/55/16 rear. I bought new dropped spindles, new front disc brake kit in 5X130 and finally bought new rear 5X130 drums ... To date, only the rear wheels are installed on the car... This weekend, I'll install the front brake kit and the front wheels ! Enough talk, here are the pictures :

First, when I bought the car :

Then with the rear wheels installed :

Another pic from the rear wheels :

After installation of the front brakes kit, I will lower the rear axle, install the rear fenders and taillights from 13/15/1302 (I hate the actual big taillights) and probably paint all the chrom parts in black except the bumpers to be replaced by the same in carbon if $'ok or paint fiber if $'not ok ...

The camera makes it look a lot better then it is . I'm running 16X6 ET50 / 205-55-16 the front and 16X7 ET40 /225-50-16 on the rear. Rubber is Michelin Pilot SX.

Yours look nice! Hurry up and get the front done I want to see the whole thing. The Mexi-Beetle still has a swing axle and uses a beam for the front right?

Yes, Mexico Bug are like all the 1200, 1300, 1500... Swing axle and beam for the front... I started the work on the front, but ball joints are damaged so I will change them but for that I'm dismantling the suspension arm, then again late in the project !!! Don't worry, soon I continue the project ...

Hi folks !!!
The car is on his wheels... I finally change all the suspension ball joints... One brake hard pipe had to be changed too but and today, I I bleeded the brake system with my Eezibleed (very fast, good product) and put the front wheels on !!! However, a problem : The rotor hubs exceed and the front wheel caps don't fit ... Does anyone have a solution for that ?

I have the same problem with my wheels. A pair of 1/4" spacers solved the problem, and I can pop my center caps on. Looks to me like you've got a little bit more of an issue then that. 3/8" spacers might solve your problem, but then you could end up with fender clearance issues.
