We just had a fab week staying with panel and his wife and eating out far to much and then popped down to atlanta and had a great few days with no h2o (dave DTM Engineering ) , probably made a nuisance of myself poking around daves workshop whilst he was trying to work on that fantastic herbie beetle , in my opinion a testament to his great skill and creativity (thanks for the headlight and stock oem fan housing Dave ).Anyway as a pinnacle to the week we had a barby with dave his wife, Zen and Nigel , a fantastic day and night and a great testament to hospitality i have recieved from the people i have met from this forum. Cheers lads and any time you find yourself in England look me up and expect the same hopitality in return .

We had a great time as well. I am glad you enjoyed hanging out at the shop. It was fun to get a few of us together for a day and have some VW fun. You are welcome here anytime. I wish we could have worked out a day to visit Jake's shop. I think that would have been a treat.
Enjoy the remainder of your vacation and have a safe trip. Anyone who is hardcore enough to tour the US for an extended vacation in an aircooled Ghia is OK in my book. My hat is off to you an Hellen. Keep in touch.:agree:

Jon and Helen,
It was great to meet you and I enjoyed hanging out with you both. I hope you made it home safely. I got home and realized that my Type 34 is the same color and year as your ghia.....just not in as good shape. Let us know where we can see some of the pics of your awesome trip.
