Hi

Kombi campers are around, but the ones that are any good are pulling good money. What a lot of backpackers buy is a cheap Toyota, GM or Ford for a grand or so and if it dies, just buy another one. The further north you get, it tends to be less VW friendly, the air cooled motors take a hammering if not driven with sympathy.

Im in Sydney. Give me call if you like when you get here, 0413 8111 86

kool , i will give you a ring steve, i don't mind paying about $au 10000 for a camper van, you recon i could get somthing half decent for that , i was thinking about buying it using it for a few months and then shipping it back as a decent one in england is absolutly insane money a mint one can be up to au$30000 for a bay something in need of a work doing is still going to set you back 10-12 thousand au$ and lets face it in our climate it is almost impossible to find one that has not got rot
cheers jon
