porsche fan opinion?

to cut a long story short i have a porsche fan and one of the blades is chipped at the top,its lost about 10mm of 1 of the corners and would need welded and smoothed off to make good again,would i then need to get the fan balanced or would it be ok?

Welding it would be tricky, as its made of a magnesium/alu alloy...

Functionwise, its still ok tho

i thought it was just aluminium,maybe not as easy to weld then,looks ok from the front so maybe just sand blast it and powder coat it would be ok,is the housing aluminium or does that have mag in it 2?

Only the fans from the old 2,0 ltr 6-cyl 911's were fully aluminium...

If you have a magn fan, then the housing is magn. also.

Wally what ever happened to your white super and the 2.4ltr motor. I have a 911 11 blade fan with some damage also, was thinking of replacing the fan. Wally are the guy's near finishing the 3 valve heads as yet.
