Wide tires

Hi, Has anyone put a 255/45/r16 on an 8 inch rim before? I figure a 245/45r16 will work fine but I really want to fill in these 3" CCC fenders. For interests sake the rims are 16x8 fuchs with 10.6mm offset. My worry is that a 45 wall 255 will be too wide (10") with too small of a side wall to fit properly on a 8" rim. THe 245 is 9.6" and have read that it will work with a 45 wall on a 8" rim. Any pointers? Thanks

Mike

use the correct size tire, and then use spacers to get your fender clearance nice.
What wheels, brakes and suspention are you using?

Susp and brakes are all topline, maxx struts and discs all around. Rims are (haven't ordered yet) fuchs replicas from wheelsandcaps.com, 16x8 10.6mm offset rear and 16x7 23.3mm offset front. (same backspacing of 112.2mm or 4.41" fr & rr) I have no idea if I'm going to need spacers or not but figured if I could sneak a wider tire in I would, since the EJ20 is going to need to traction.

These rims are made in china but I haven't heard anything bad about them yet. Best part is their price, for a daily driver that will most likely get some wheel scuffs I don't want to break the bank on wheels if I don't have to.

I've got all the parts to install them but the car is in the body shop right now. As soon as it gets out the first thing to go on will be the suspension, rims and tires, and pics will be sure to follow.
