Hello,
I am building a race car based on a Ghia.
The bodyshell I had was a mix of GRP and steel. In some places the grp was a half inch thick!! Not good.

There is a guy over here who has moulds for a Ghia cabrio.
He has modified this to a coupe for me.
ALL the panels will be bare C/F.

Car will be called " Carbon Ghia"

2110 turbo engine, tube chassis.....................

I will hopefully have the rest of the shell by Christmas.
I will post more pics when I have some.

Cheers,Ross.

Hi guys.
Well............Christmas came and went..................nothing.
I was told it would absolutely,definately,no quibble..............be done by Jan 31st.............................It wasn't.

Some of you may be aware that I have been waiting for this shell for two years now. Well, I have had enough.

I have missed two years of racing, and in that time alot has changed.
I have told the guy not to bother finishing it. I am that sick of waiting

I know I am kind of cutting my nose off to spite my face, but you have to draw a line somewhere.

Too many promises never coming to fruition.

I am building a Squareback now.

seems rampant in this industry. you just don't see it in many other ones. those companies disappear. apparently you have to be one hell of a screwup in the auto industry...that or be too honest.

Sorry to read that Ross,

I can understand your point of view though... I have been waiting for more than a year for a paintjob on one of my cars, still want it back though

It was painted before but it showed to many bad spots so it had to be totally redone. I've had it with that shop, but they still got my car. So I have to be somewhat polite/understanding.

To bad for your project car. That door looked very promissing!

Yeah, I am gutted about it.
If he gets in touch this week and sends me pics of it, then I might still go for it............................but I doubt it.

Lee, the thing is, do you have moulds for Ghia panels?
I considered getting in touch with other people(Ghia Studio,DRE, LA Perf)
but I thought that if you had to make moulds first, then make panels, it would be twice the work, hence twice the price!
I was happy with the quote I was given. I paid half the cash up front.
At one point when it was getting a bit iffy(I thought I might not see any parts or my cash back) I considered going down and ripping the doors of his place and taking the moulds as "security."
