Shipping to Canada!

Hello everyone. For those of you who have sent anything across the border, what is the cheapest way to get it there. I am trying to send my hubs rotors and spindles to Lanner @ Vdub Customs and through fedex I was going to be charged 147$ one way! I live in North Dakota, I can drive to Mississagua Ontario and back for that much! I also looked up rates for USPS and it was less at 139$. Anyone have a cure?

Wow shipping sure has gone up with the price of fuel. I shipped up 2 ball joint spindles, 2 944 hubs, and a rotor. The package weighed just under 40 lbs. and shipping was only about $60 with USPS. They are not even showing the brokerage fees online. How much does your package weigh??

The package weighs just under 50lbs... I want to ship that thing up there bad, I just cant justify paying as much for shipping as I am for the services and products I will get back.

I remember the lady at the post office saying I was lucky that I made it in under 40lbs. maybe there is a certian weight that the shipping is still affordable. What are you having done to your brakes. Are you getting the 944 brake kit or something completly custom. If you are getting the 944 brake kit you could probably save a ton on shipping by modifing the hubs yourself. That might keep you under the 40lbs ? weight limit for cheaper shipping.

I used Fedex ground, but they effed everything up. Damaged the package, then lost it. Total idiots. Thing was packed bullet proof, too -- extra tape, gobs of bubble wrap, etc. Makes me wonder if a truck ran over it or something. This is the third major problem out of three packages that Fedex Ground has caused.

I won't use Fedex ground until they get their friggin' act together.
