The beast is alive

Hi guys, haven't been on here for a while -well couple of years actually. Some may have seen the Vert in the members rides. Well after a 10 year slog the car finally runs. I actually lost intrest in it and it sat for a few years after which i got made an offer to sell which i couldn't refuse. The car runs a Haltech injected 2.7 L type4, had the opportunity last weekend to help the new owner do the 1st service / valve adj after which I got to drive it for the fist time, awesome moment and to be honest i would be lying if i said there were no regrets about selling it. The power this thing has is awesome, it just pulls from 1500 rpm. Just as well that the new owner and I are good friends, so I will be getting to use the beast once time permits. I'll try to post some pics very soon, ony have video footage at the moment.

The dash is custom made, I actually used an old LHD dash and cut it up changing it to RHD and modified from there.

The back seat is also custom made with the centre arm rest, the basic foam part is from a skyline and cut down from there. All I used from the VW frame was just the outer framework. It was a lot of work to make it all fit but worth the effort i think.

The interior is all custom, front seats are from a mitsubishi Lancer redone in leather, back seat is custom using foam from a skyline, dash is custom (over 50 hours in this alone) console is from a MK2 Golf and gauges ofcourse are Porsche. The door panels are made from scratch with hand made arm rests.
The idea was to create someting modern looking.

You certainly succeeded ! It is gorgeous !
It makes me think that I should get a Bug as a daily driver, with an interior
like that....
