anyone have this GWD shifter?

It's made by a German manufacturer called GWD-Weiser, pretty pricy at 529 Euro but I really love the look of this one. It should provide for very short shifting (even shorter then the Gene Berg short shift).

Yes I've got one but not used it in anger yet.

Although depending on your pan it gets very close to the hand brake lever. I'm putting it on my 65 and the clearances are fine but I did try it out on my 76 1303 and the hand brake button touched the aluminium frame.

Also because of the extended angles it needs more than the original 2 bolts to hold it in place, you need to tap the tunnel for a couple of additional bolts.

Looks good but I'm yet to be won over.

@65cabby, did you buy it from GWD in Germany directly or is it also for sale by someone else for a better price maybe?

Am I correct in the belief that it is available for the Porsche 915 trans to Type I VW conversions?

I'm not sure about 915 trans but mine was a special order RHD for a 5 speed so there possibly could be other types.

Mine came direct from Alfred Knuf the web site is not active althought his email is info@powertuningparts.de

@ 65cabby, how much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking?

Lets just say it came in a box of bits as I'm not sure I could have spent this much money, I'm thinking I might want to use a Gene Berg shifter anyway. But I have a receipt from powertuningparts for 595 euros delivered to the uk which worked out at about £400
It was a special order RHD for a 5 speed, in case that makes a difference but I've not seen any published prices from either Knuf or GWD
