Road Trip how long before cool down?

Hey Guys I am Flying out on Thursday to Austin TX to pick up my new 64 bug and going to drive it back up to Fort Worth. The trip is 204 miles. Can't wait to drive it.

The car has a 1776 w/duel carbs merged header and stinger exaust. My question is how long should i drive? Should i stop and let it cool down or is it safe to drive the highway miles all at one time. I plan on leaving early in the morning but It will be close to 100 degrees by the time I arive. I just don't want to damage anything.

Also any advice on what tools or spare parts I might want to bring along... the car has not been a daily driver sence 99 well it was driven about 3 months ago for 3 months...
