Ididit steering column

Hi, anyone in this forum that has installed a ididit tilt column in their bug? I see one that I'd sure like to install. It tilts and telescopes.

When I did have my car running, my driver's seat basically contacted the back seat; but I really needed about an inch more steering wheel closer to me in order to feel just right.

Can't say I've seen one in a beetle, but doesn't mean it couldn't be done...

I bought one from Airkewld about 10 years ago, but ended up selling it. Eyeball Engineering has a picture of one installed here: http://eyeball-engineering.net/currentprojects.html

Ok, so it is doable, but with my skills and lack of sheet metal experience, for me it makes me wonder. Also that key lock has a weird closeness to the steering wheel. But I could buy the one without the lock.

When I drove my bug in its seating location, it made me sort of have to lean forward, which I did not like. I'll goback to ididit site and look at the other column securing parts, maybe I can get it to work, for my needs.

Thank you.

When I upgraded to a Nardi steering wheel in my car I used a spacer to move it closer to the seat which def helped in the comfort department as I am tall.

Thanks for sharing. With the ididit in different length, getting it adjusted I don't think will pose too much of an issue.
