That is the system I've recently installed in my Beetle. To be more specific, MS1 V3.0 pcb MSnS-Extra29q with EDIS4.

The intended T4 is still on the bench but the MS is now installed in the car ready. I've had 20m of cable between the EDIS (in the car) and it's VR sensor (on the engine/bench) and 3m of cable to the wasted-spark coil pack on the floor, even cranking by hand it works. I even got some random sparks by holding the sensor close to the vents on my brake disc, I kid you not. I'm very excited about starting the engine. Here's some pics:

Matt

While it's not on a type 1 I'm also running megasquirt. MS2 with V3.0 pcb and relay board on a wrx motor. I can't wait to get it running.

Matt, are you going to use the stock f.i. fuel pump for your setup?

I'm using a EDIS/ Megasquirt setup on my Subaru EJ20T. I'm using the V3.0 PCB with no relay. I'm not 100% finished gathering the parts. But there are a few on here which are using this set up.

What's the progress with decoding the subaru crank position signal? I saw on the ms forums a while back that somebody had written the code for it..

Hi, yes my stock pump is staying in place for now. I'll have fuel pressure data to see if it needs to be changed for something bigger.

Me? I'm using the VR sensor and wheel for the EDIS set up. I think I saw somewhere that it could be used, but I stopped looking because I didn't want to change my PCB board to make it work.

Im running the edis on my ej. I dunno of anyone else that is on these boards though...? Its pretty straightforward. You still have to mod the board to use edis. If there is a code for the suby ignition, that would make for a cleaner conversion. When i did mine, there wasnt one out.
