For a T1 or T4 engine, I don't think there is a bolt on unit. And I don't think you'd want one. Bolt on turbo kits can be had from several places like lowbugget.com , aircooled.net , etc. The turbo is a much better option for an A/C VW

Myabe I'm wrong, but wouldn't adding a supercharger increase the drag on the engine, therefore increasing the temp? I know it's not a ton of extra load, but I imagine it could be enough to shorten engine life.

So all in all..........yes - there are/is available "bolt-on" supercharger kits available for the type1.
type4 - errrrrr - no. Some fabrication is in order. But - I say go for it !! Be different. I love different things. find a way to fab up a type4 system like the picture. Or do a turbo - or don't - whatever - just DO SOMETHING !! <LOL> Have fun. Dan |
