Talking Feedback on my engine setup

Hi masters of the Type IV,

I would like your feedback/comments to finish my engine build.
The idea is to have power & torque
> 2366cm3 (71x103mm)
> Max rev 7000-7250 rpm
> mainly street use but would like to go also on the track
> CR 9.5:1 or maw 10:1

I will be pleased if you can advise me on the valve train & flywheel selection.

Already procured
Case : Type IV 2.0 Porsche 914
Crankcase : DMS 71mm 2.0 CW + Heat treatment
Rods : H-Beam CrMo 4340 - std 2.0 length 24mm pin
Cylinders : QSC 103mm Nikasil internal treatment
Pistons : JE 103mm custom made for nikasil cylinders (flat top design)
Heads : Bus CJ 2.0 prepared by B.A.S. Germany (44x38/Complete valve seat job/Ported intake) Heads chambers need to be reworked
Lifters: 56gr HD T1 lifers + bushings
Carburettors : 2 x 45 DRLA on short & aligned manifolds
Oil pump : Melling HD
Cooling: Porsche 911 260mm Fan (11 blades)

To buy
- Valve retainers: Jake Rabbit Ti retainers
- Spring: Berg dual springs
- Pushrod: Gene Berg 160000 PSI HD pushrods
- Berg HD lash caps + valve collets
- Ignition : Mallory (Unitlite + CDI Hyfire VIA + coil)

Valve train options
German option
- Rockers arms: Porsche 914 1.7 (8mm) + 911 adjusters + solid spacers
- Camshaft: Schleicher 324° (106)

US option
- Rockers arms: Pauter 1.48 rockers set
- Camshaft: Pauter camshaft: ?

Flywheel option
I've got the original forged 215mm 914 flywheel nevertheless it will not fit a std beetle gearbox.
Does it exist a diameter of T4 flywheel that willl fit both T1 beetle gearboxes AND Porsche 901/915 gearboxes ?
In any case flywheel will be lightened and balanced

Cheers,

Obi

Hi, Hi spec indeed for a streeter, but good luck with it.
It just so happens that i'm having a run on 228mm flywheel and clutch adaptions into T1 bell housings, these go in with careful clearancing, i don't know why the 215mm should not go in also, unless there's something unique about the 914 fly' that I'm not privy to?

Hi

I've had both 215 & 228 mm flywheels in bug bell housing, they do fit with some patient grinding, this was on WBX motor.

Thanks guys,

It exists at least 2 kind of 215mm flywheels, the Porsche 914 one, the only one forged in the vw air-cooled range of engine. It is higher than the other 215mm T4 flywheel. That's why it is more difficult to fit it in a std beetle gearbox.
