Oil cooler location
Hi, does anyone have the 3 piece brace bar on the rear with oilcooler mounted on top of the gearbox? Is the fitting tight as it is quite impossible to squeeze a 96plate with fan with the bar runing across!

Thats exactly what I am running.
3 bar framehorn brace system from CSP. large oil cooler and fan mounted above and to the left of the gearbox (left = actual left if you were sat in the car). TIGHT is an understatement. It was a real fiddle getting it in there. But it does fit Cya, Sam C

Yeah, its darn tight and we had a few minutes of thinking it wouldnt go in... Ended up having to twist it this way and that but once we worked it out it was easy second time around.
Alternativly you could cut out the parcel tray below the rear window, leaving a couple of inches on each edge. Weld some reinforcing plate to the edges, drill some holes then weld some bolts to the underside. Then create a plate which fits over the top and bolts down... That way you can have much better access to the gearbox/starter/coolers etc. Its something I plan on doing oneday, just to make life easier when working on bits down there. Just a thought.... ABOVE the gearbox???
That's where mine was orginally, did bugger all good up there re cooling. So it's now mounted to the left of the framehorn on three brackets welded to the pan. Does A fine job of cooling the lump down now, even without a fan!!1 Vyper

Vyper do you have pics of your mounting? I have a home made 3 bar setup, and a 96 plate mounted above the package tray. It runs about 190 to 200. This sucks. I'm thinking about mounting the 96 plate in front of the front beam, with steel hard lines going to the rear to my thermostat and filter. Has anyone tried this? I'm worried about oil pressure drop.
