Flip-It Bumpsteer Kit Needed with 944?
I recall reading this was needed for the early cars if converting to 944...but now reviewing that it doesn't make sense, as the early cars were 3 bolt struts...
So, I got my 944 spindle on, and the tierod only mounts in it from the bottom. It would appear that I could theoretically tighten the bolt and seal it in the spindle...which I'll hold off on doing. But, isn't that what I DON'T want? So I'd need to drill the hole out to 5/8" and put the bumpsteer kit in. Would the tierod mount from the top then? I don't recall if the tierod was on the bottom or top of the spindle originally..I'd guess bottom. Could I get a smaller tierod to fit in the top, but it's a one way taper, right? Thanks, -Ian |

hello mate
you need the flip kit to change the size in the 944 spindle to the bug tie rod size.depends how much you have it lowered as to which side you put the tie rod but most i have seen are below to try and combate bump steer.i think the rule is to have your steering arms leval with road with the car at ride hight. cheers rob
