Too much crankcase pressure.... but why?

Right then, the story goes a bit like this.....

Bug engine pulls a ring on two cylinders resulting in high crankcase pressure and oil appearing from every orrifice.

Replace the pistons with a new 1641 piston kit and .......

oil leaks from the head end pushrod seals, so, replace seals and... oil leaks, so, replace seals again this time with a bit of sealant and.... still leaks. Went for a run in it today 50+ miles and oil is coming from the fuel pump pedestal too .

The breather and lines are all clear and free of any sharp bends/twists.

Why is there so much crankcase pressure? New pistons and rings should negate any possible blowby so why is the pressure so high that it's forcing the oil out? Can an exhaust restrict flow so much that it increases crankcase pressure to that extent?

This is bugging me somewhat as I cant seem to keep any oil in the motor!

Tommorrow I'm doing the seals again, only this time with a drop of Sikaflex........ 'hope that sorts it, but in the meantime...... any ideas guys?

just a thought: have you checked the pressure spring? where the sensor for the light is on the engine? dont know your setup, but it could be a broken sring of a relief valve.

I agree with 1303, check the relief springs. Make sure the relief pistons are moving, and the correct size spring is in the correct place.

Good luck.
