type 1 or 4 better with turbo

ok so im beating a dead horse, buch please help.

im looking for longivity and reliablity, but want to add a turbo. is one better than the other?

for a type 1 i was thinking of 1776 or 1915 .

for type 4 i was looking for anything stock.

ill be putting it into a bug. im thinking a mildly over stock type 4 with a turbo will be the best route, but wouldnt this also be more expensive.

which would last longer, given both are cared for the same way?

I believe a T4 would last longer of course but is FAR more difficult from what I've gathered.
More expensive, harder to do, parts availability, etc.
I guess it also depends on your resources.
On the other hand, 1776 cc, or a 1915 cc turbocharged T1 could be quite reliable I imagine. As long as you stay sane with the boost and what not.

Type 1 and type 4 engines are about equal in price to build IF you use quality parts. Type 1 can be cheaper if you use cheap parts. I don't know of any commercially available turbo exhaust headers for a type 4, there are a couple for the type 1.
