Type 4 Dry Sump Pump

Looking for info on Type 4 dry sump oil pumps. Looking for a pump that can be used with the stock cooling fan set up on a 914. I can modify the fan housing if necessary. I have seen a unit similar in design to the Remmele pump on the engine picture page that fits with the stock fan housing, but I have heard that that particular design leaked.

Looking for info on Remmele's stuff or Oliver Knuff if he has one.

Can a type 1 style, like CB performance has be used?

Any links or info are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ed

Hi Ed I've seen a stick shift T1 pump used where the smaller gears were replaced with some stock sized ones, and a bigger outer case ..............I just can't remember the make,It was 20 years ago.

Sorry that weren't much help was it?

We have problems with the distance of the mounting bar. My father and I thought of it, and the only way would be the Schadek, as the auto-stick pump is definitely too small for a Type 4. A steel cover can be used on the Schadek to get a few millimeters less thickness. Could you measure it? We haven't got a 914 here, so it's just a thought of what can fit and what not.

The CB pump you mentioned, is the Schadek, but with a thicker cover. Besides Schadek produces also a fitting version for the Type 4!
