How do you fix this? use shim? Time to replace? something on wrong...maybe the pulley? My dad was asking me for his 73 1303.

On a side note...his 71 1302
is comin along great!

Depends on where the engine in question is coming from. If it came out of a car after several thousand miles (and had the correct endplay to begin with) then something in there is worn out and needs to be replaced.

If it is a fresh rebuild and you know all the parts are good, you use metal shims in the front (front means front of car) of the crank.
