clearencing the gearbox forks

making room for the 915 box.moving forward 75mm .

starting spot welding plates in

filling up the holes

extra internal bracing

next welding box section in the middle of the brace for access to the gearbox shifter coupling.

some more templates need to be made for the inside of the forks.

shorter 27mm torsion bars .

Those are porsche? what did they come from? I know that vw are red and porsche are blue, but i didn't think they made them shorter.

I think their a swayaway torsion bar got then from V-force.

almost finished welding

finished clearencing for the 915 box.
torsion tubes in place 5mm needs to be removed from the inside edge
new handbrake tubes need to be made.

Looking good Malcolm Are you going to bridge over and under the trans to tie the two sections of torsion bar housing together?

heres the bracing to bridge the torsion tubes together and the engineer has approved it.


this will be the position of the drive shafts under load.

Looking good Malcolm, but I think you could get a LOT more strength into the middle by closing off the hole infront of the trans...

Rich the hole in front of the trans is forthe shifter rod & coupling if you have a look at the earlier pics youwould see that plate goes right across the tunnel.
I,m going to modify the orignal pan and use this one as a test bed.
