honda wheels on super beetle

I was just throwing out the idea because the large quantity of honda wheels you can find and for a good price. I work in a tire shop and came across some wheels off a honda and looked at the offset and it was 55 and were 17 by 6 1/2. I was wondering if anyone has used honad/acura wheels on a 74 super and would they fit if they had 55 mm offset that topline suggest to use with stock wings. Any help would be really nice.

I don't see why not. What is the bolt pattern of Honda wheels ... 4x100? whatever it is, TopLine can do the pattern for you. So can VeeDubEngineering. TopLine did my four-wheel disks in a 5x100. My wheel set-up is slightly different than yours plus I have their MaXX struts. I cannot comment on the offsets you have planned but Jon at TopLine can.

Well i am running the honda 4x100 bolt pattern with Maxx Struts on my 73 super with a +40 offset 17x7 inch rim, no rubbing what so ever. I am not too keen on exact size offsets but if the wheel you have has less than 6 inches backspacing you will be fine if using Toplines Maxx strut. Considering your wheel is 17x6.5 it should fit no problem. Now since you have a 74 your track width is a bit larger than my 73's so just do some test fittings and see where you are at.

I guess a lot off tes fitting would have to be done. these wheels are off of a 2003 acura tl there 5 spoke wheels and would look a little diffrent that the porsche look. the weels say they have the 55 mm offset so i would figure they would fit. i guess i would have to find some and test fit them up to the car. I would have the paint striped and paint them a gunmetal color. how would they look.

I currently have the brms on the car and I personally dont want them because I guess they clear coat the black paint and its flacking on the rear rims only. the 17's dont fit they have a 42 offset anyone have a idea if 50 offset would clear instead of toplines recomended 55. the 42 lines up with the fender in front so I believe 50 would clear. The rotors are still stock no drilling yet done still deciding if i should go wider fenders or stay stock and hunt down 55 offset wheels. any suggestions. I live in northern california
