Powder Coating fan shroud, wasnt sure where else to put topic

If i should have posted this in another forum then I apologize, there is no painting section, but it does have to do with the engine so i figured this would work. I got a 36hp shroud for my type IV engine from Aircooled.net i ended ordering one of the "Zinc Coated" shrouds with hopes of powder coating it. Does any one know if I can do that to somthing that is Zinc Coated or would i have to beed blast it first. Would I be better off painting it with acrylic paint or the same crap im going to use on my car? Thanks Allot

If you get it powder coated the shop will bead blast it anyway, It won't be a problem. Also painting with the same paint as your car wouldn't be a problem although it should be primered first.
