Zenith Carb problems

I have a 34pic on a 1898 with stock heads and an empi GT exhaust in a myers manx sr2. My probles is it hesitates for a while when I give it gas, and when I am trying to hold it at about 2,500 rpms it starts to lose rpm. It also shoots gas out of the carb when i try to give it gas ay higher rpms. After I shut it off it starts to leak alot of evaporated gas out of the carb. It might be smoke but I dought it. Mabey I need a different carb.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Smile Adjust your valves

Hi be sure your valves are adjusted, maybe time to rebuild thoese carb sounds like the accelorator pump is worn. If the accelorator pump does not shoot out the gas as should be, it will cause a momentary lean condition, thus the back fire start there. O at 2500rpm the air speed should be enough unless you done something to the jetting? have you?

Zenith Carb problems

I haven't done anyting to the carb. I think the pump is working because I can give it gas and watch the gas squirt out of the 2 brass tubes in the top of the carb.
