I have a full set of CCC + 2"f & 3"r wide Super beetle fenders. The fit and finnish is exelent! i have not seen many fiberglass parts with such quality. even the headlight ring fit is superb! all the holes line up really well and the profiles/ shape is great to!.
Although i have never seen Mark VI's products in person. i wouldent have any hesitation ordering from Creative car craft... they even have good service aswell

Anybody running the early widened CCC on the front?
They don't say how wide they are on the site???? I want to run the 1.1/4" on the rear and might get the widened fronts if they are the same. Thanks P.S. pics of them installed would be good too. |

I have them. I think they are 2" wider, but check the website. As with all their products, great quality. I'm not totally thrilled with the shape morph as the fender gets wider, a tiny bit angular, but with a bumper you'd never know. Very strong too.

I checked the website :
Widened front pre 67' Use with up to 8" tire tread on 7" wheels with min. backside spacing of 3.5" Tried to phone them today Tried to email last week We have the 1.1/4" widened rear. I just want to know if the fronts are the same (1.1/4") or wider. The 1.1/4" widened rear reads: Use with up to 7" tire tread on 7" wheels with min. backside spacing of 3.5" |

When I was investigating fiberglass fenders a year or so ago, Creative Car Craft received universal thumbs up from all who responded at different sites. I hesitated because volkdent is right in that the front fenders from them are (or were back then) stock or two inches wider whereas they didn't have a two-inch wider option with their rear fenders.
I, personally, didn't want wider fronts than rears, and I didn't want to go super wide on the rear of my 1302 even though I had planned that originally when I thought I would buy a 1303 first. VW Innovations uses Glass-Action parts. They received mixed reviews but most detractors didn't like them under their former name -- Innovations in Fiberglass. Most supporters were more recent customers (perhaps like Quik). I did favor the idea of having the fronts and rears widened by the same amount with my 1302. (In the end, I stayed with my stock fenders.) The original post asked about Mark VI. (Did they raise their Roman numeral?) They did not get good reviews at all -- enough so I did not consider them. |

Just talked to the guys from CCC and the widened fronts are 2" wider than stock
Oasis if you check the stock fender width front and rear on a super, you will find that the fronts are wider. So when you add the 1.1/4" rear you just even things up. Last edited by Bullyboy; February 22nd 2006 at 14:28. |

If I had gone that route, the entire concept would have changed. Actually, it would have reverted back to my original intentions I had planned for a 1303. I view the 1302 and 1303 as different cars. I like the idea of the 1302 being a "should've car" -- a combination of something VW should've done back then and should've done now if they still made them. I also like the idea of a 1303 being really over the top, pushing the envelope, being outside the box, and whatever other metaphor one can conjure up. Alas, one car at a time. |

| made my brain hurt... I agree with bullyboy , the rear fenders should def match the fronts or be slightly wider... personally, imho, I think anything bigger than 3 inches wider than stock is pretty blatant... I have 3 in wider (waiting to be installed) for the rears and 2 inches wider in the front and I think it's a g00d combination. I think the back half of the bug "l00ks" thinner than the front (whether it really is or not, I'm not sure) so even to have two fenders of the same width might not seem like the rear ones are as wide as the front ones. I like the 2"/3" combo. It's subtle and not overly flamboyant... but those are my tastes... does vwinnovations use glass action molds? Ralph left me with the impression that he made all of his stuff himself...

Many of these items are designed & manufactured exclusively at GLASS-ACTION Sorry for your little hurt. I like the 2"/3" combo, too, but I prefer it for a full-on 1303 German Looker. I didn't want it for my 1302. That's all. There's nothing subtle about it. Bottom line: CCC is more universally liked. G-A/VWI offers more choices. MOO |
