1966 Beetle

Hi, for the last month I have been helping a friend rebuild his engine. In the following week we will put it together. I noted some major cracks in the body panels. I belive they are called the quarter panel. Is there a cut off year from which the quarter panel will match. We have the rear apron new. I hate the thought of trying to do the major body repairs and have it come out poorly. So can I use the quarter panels from a 68, 69, they truely need replacing.

Later model metal will work, just cut it oversized from the donor car, then trim to fit..
