Oliver- Porsche Shroud on Stock Type4?

Oliver, have you been using Porsche shrouds on stock 1.7 1.8 & 2.0 Type 4 motors in Germany? With what results? Do they run too cool?

THe reason I am asking is I would like to convert my 1302 to Type 4 power. I would like to buy a stock Running Type 4 motor and convert to Porsche shroud so that I can save some money to build a 2.3L motor down the road.

Thumbs up Good question

I'm in the process of getting my 914 2.0 engine ready for spring 2003 and I would like information also.

I know the 911 kits require case machining but can the machining be done without disassembling the engine ?

I've got a running longblock and want the 911 shroud but don't want to take the engine apart for the machining.

Thanks

Sandeep

...

Wouldn't make sense, as the Type 1 cooling conversions would work very good but hasn't got the looks. For later tuning, it's a good decision, but think of the case that has to be machined and for that it has to be empty and open!
