Well, the title said it all, even there isn't a beetle cup (in Belgium) anymore I want to make a track toy/racing beetle.
It's going to be a long project, when we find the time (and budget off course) So if anyone has any ideas or comments at any time, don't hold back, just shoot. We don't expect to be the fastest on track, we just want some fun building and racing it. |

What's the fuel capacity of this tank?
How much taller than standard is this tank? |

the problems with the gearbox, it wasn't only the gearbox, it was the gearbox and the combination of the used parts. - The 215mm flywheel dindn't have the bearing, so we got the flywheel machined and that was a problem solved - once the gearbox became hot, there was an oil leak. the modified nose (also previous owner) was leaking, and you don't want that on a racetrack, so we bought another nose, had to modify it a bit. another problem solved (we tought). But apparently the gears were damaged by the heat. So, another gearbox, the case from a 914 is the same, so... But we forget to change the breather hole (stupid, I know) so once you drive a few minutes in high revs, he throws out the oil. But for now it runs great. Maybe we'll be at Le Bug Show next weekend Last edited by josvandegalaxy; August 16th 2023 at 13:38. |
