My Solution To The Obscured Speedo On 1303s

Hi

I’ve had enough of not being able to see the top part speedo in my sons 1303. So I came up with this solution, I fitted a small SPA digital speedo inside the stock speedo housing, the stock fuel gauge and warning lights still function.

I really needed to have this done as my sons gets his licence in a few months and the popo are very strict with new drivers, they must display a special P plate on the front and back of the car.

The SPA speedo features,
Acceleration timer
Standing 1/4 mile timer
Built in odometer
Built in trip meter
Maximum speed recall
Adjustable backlit lcd display
Programmable button function.
Readout selectable for mph or kmh
Calibrates to any tyre circumference

They cost around $225USD plus delivery including the sender.

Steve

Nice Steve!!

Good to know that Spa also has a little digital speedo. I'm looking for such a thing almost an half year long, wanted to use one of an KTM motorcycle... but I now know where to get the real one

Greetings Wiebrand

Hi

On another car I used a speedo from a push bike, but it had no lighting and it went funny at 120 kph, this ones good for 999 kph.

Hi Steve

Its just a stocker but with lowering and a Kamei front air dam I've had it up to 160 kph, it takes a long time though.

Perhaps I did the wrong thing, the car handles and stops so well with the 944 rear end and 17 inch wheels etc, its hard to make it step out of line, but when it does it will be doing high speeds, maybe I should have left it stock so that he could experience what a normal bug drives like.

Oh the reason for the checks on the speedo face, my sons into SKA music, plus I think it looks cool.
