I have been running a 2.1l DJ WBX in my 55 Bug for the 5th year now, runs great!!

The radiator is from an Alfa Romero 33 that fits in place of the spare wheel, which is the only place I’ve done body mods! I use the old water pump (pre 1985) so the engine fits without cutting the in body, the rubber coolant hoses runs thru the heater channels, and a heater from a VW Polo…

That is very cool! Like it. Especially the relative simpleness of the install. At least thats how it looks and reads.
Do you have a pic of the front side where the opening for the radiator can be seen?

Thanks,
Walter

Sure Wally, Here are some more pics. The car has changed color since the pics was taken, and I fitted 2 fans, the only real hassle was the gearbox, I use an 228mm flywheel and clutch so I hat to grind a lot of material of the gearbox, it has a 1303 IRS box and suspension….

The rad is from an Alfa Romeo 33, we have loads of them here in Denmark
And it fits nicely, I figure if the Alfa produce 120- 140hp it must create the same amount of heat!... It works, I have no overheating problem!! I can you give you the measurements later today, and maybe even supply you with one if you like?
