Well I fired it up in the car and all is well. I need to hunt down one electric gremlin, strip the tint from the door glass and I have lots of cleaning and polishing to do. I cranked it up and pulled it out into the light of day for a washing. Had to blast it off with the pressure washer before rubbing it with the suds (lots of dust and grit on it). Pulled it back inside, set the rear ride height and started to go at it with the clay bar.
The new throttle linkage system is very smooth and light. It will take some getting use too not having helper springs. Hell the pedal is lighter than my wife's Jetta TDI and it is fly by wire.

That rocks. Really glad to hear it. You were long overdue to take care of yourself. Mine may be off the road a little longer than I planned after an unexpected family medical issue, but I hope to still push for EuroFest as I can't bear missing that after they are finally featuring the VW marque we have been pushing for all of these years. I hope you can make it to the show.

Hi,

Your car really looks great... I love the cooling tin (DTM?)

Can this linkage be bought somewhere or is it homemade?

Regards

Sebastien

It can be bought. The guy who developed it is just getting things going. He is trying to find a CNC shop to produce it. For now he is cranking them out in his basement shop. I think he has been working on it for 3 years or more. Here is a like to the thread on STF http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewto...p?f=1&t=109159
Yes the cooling shroud is a DTM.

Thanks a lot fot the link, I want one of those kits for my EFI setup, I'm bored with the CSP Linkage... This one seems as precise as they can get...

If you don't mind saying, how much was it?

Seb

I paid $170 US. The kit was complete from the pedal connection to the carbs.

Joel and I spent 8 hours with the Porter Cable Polisher, 5 different pads/medium cut/fine cut/swirl remover/machine glaze/wax on wax off and it looks damn good again. I think I will fix my self induced electrical gremlin, clean the interior and try to take it to the Summit Racing Cruise-In on Monday night and get some tune time with the LM1.

I was always taught that you wanted some good break in before fine-tuning...

Esp. with a wideband, because if the rings haven't seated, you could foul the sensor.

I'm in that boat right now.
Got a decent baseline tune using traditional methods,
And the LM-1 is burning a hole thru the toolbox drawer.
Hate to be running it lean, or have one hole with an air leak, or...
Gotta get some miles on, tho!
By the third tank of gas, it is running SO much smoother now.
Sounds different, feels different... Amazing..

I have 2+ hours run time on it on the test stand. I'm sure the rings are not fully seated but she doesn't smoke a bit. If I foul the sensor I won't be too upset. I have had it for 3 years. I will give a good road break-in before really pulling on it. I will jet it just a wee bit on the fat side to get a good carbon seal.

Well at long last, my car came out of the garage for a couple short drives today. Man it has been a long time since I have driven it. I had 2 small oil leaks to take care of and a little jetting. I will continue with the shake down runs. I think I will make a run down to Summit Racing tonight for the Monday Night Cruise In.

It has been a long time since I have driven it. Way too long. I did make it down to Summit Racing's Monday Night Cruise In. Met up with some guys I work with. They own 65 and 66 Mustangs.
I got there a bit early and made a jet change to try o the way home. It is very close now. I need to bump the timing up a bit and read it again. The exhaust sounds great.
