Hey

Sorry to go back in time a while Wiebrand but how did you fix your fuel lines in your tunnel and how much clearance did you make for pedal/clutch hook.,did you bend that first then put tubes in to the tunnel.Did you do the end bends while tubes were in tunnel or what.Sorry to ask obvious questions but Im about to start doing my fuel lines for my 2.4 turbo type 1 and need all the help I can get.Im 2 years into my build 1303 75 model but its got parts from many differrent cars Boxter S Brakes 944 hubs 18 inch five spoke Porch wheels.Motor was assembled by Scat USA and heaps more stuff.Im very envious of your cage,Ive bought the pipe bender trying to get to Roll cage but fuel comes first.Your project looks great cant wait to see it finished.Good luck JS from Australia

Thanks JS!!! Love all the good reactions that I get of all over the world!!! That keeps the good work up!!

For the fuellines;
I first cut out an piece of metal at the "rearlegs" (as to see on the pics) and at the front of the original outlet.
I put the fuellines in from the front (through that opening). Before I put them I make one "sharp" turn at the front, with an lengt so the line just can go through that opening in the front. Than lay that line on top ot the tunnel and see where it has to be bend at the back to go to the "rearlegs" (you have to make an soft S-turn in it). Don't bend it too sharp or you won't get it in.

After that put the line through the opening in the front and push it to the back (sometime an little hitting with an hamer is neccesary). When it is at the original fuelline outlet make it fit. And at last you bend th fielline up at the rear. After that weld back the pieces that you cutted out.

Here is an map with pics.. I hope you can get what I'm saying.

If you have more questions, just ask.

Thanx mate.

Thanx a lot man you have done a greate job.Im using 12mm aluminium tube I got from speed floww,so its soft and ezy to bend.Im gonna put plastic tube over that to protect from wear.Also going to weld some brackets into tunnel so I can solid mount the tube as well *** cable ties where ever I can .I will cut similar holes to you and another infront of the gear shift as I want the fuel lines in very tight so there will be no leeks later on.Imagine fuel pumping out, fills up tunnel then BOOM.Ill post some pics when I have finished I hope it looks half as good as your job.Thanx so much for your help and keep on rocking.I also noticed you have done some work to the front control arm mounts on your pan, is this for better steering ,as you are going very low I supose bump steer will be a drama.Please explain???Take care JS

That's the work for a car that is going low and have to be an verry thight handling car. I reinforced the front control arms, and to be sure that the mounts won't brake I reinforced them too (the force that first was transmitted in the arms is after the reinforcing of the arms "moved" to the mounts). Now the force is transported directly to the mount (chassishead) and to the frontshocks. (and I hope that none of them is going to brake in the several years )

Yesterday, after an half day of relaxing I was sober again (is that the right word?) and I could start again with working on the car. Sanded several things, masked some things and then again it was time for spraying again. For some reason I mixed the paint too thin so I get 'lopers' all the time. Bad **** because then I have to sand again.

Today I started sanding again, degreasing, etc. and finally some painting in red and clear.

Last night sprayed the last parts (ten) red. Now only 25 - 30 parts have to be sprayed in black. And after that finally everything can be assembled.
