my punch buggy racer!

this is my supa bug. my dad gave it to me as a christmas present. i have a type4 2L motor for it and im waiting for vforce to finish their horizontal 3speed thermo fan kit with the reversable mounting kit(to shift the engine forward). by the end of the week i should recieve my 944T brake kit(apparently. ive been waiting like 2 months) but i cant fit that until i get the wheels and custom struts.

the first thing i did was fit the wood grain steering wheel and boss kit and ripped off the old scool whale tail. im going to fit the white one in the photo. ive also fitted new rubber to the wheels as im going to register it before i mod it, its easier that way.

the fan set up is being made by Vforce/ bettleracing.com its like in proto type stages at the moment but i think itll be ready after christmas. it runs a three speed thermo fan with a high amp alternator. i believe its designed for every day use. instead of just track. its been designed to allow the engine to get up to 94 degrees c, were all the power is made. apparently at high revs the porsche fan cools too much and can get as cold as 80 degrees celcius. yeah you can get a smaller pulley but then it sucks(or doesnt suck)around the street.

pics of the fan? No.

just got most of my parts for the 944t brake conversion my parts list that i physically now have:

front hubs
front 4 spot calipers
rear 4 spot calipers
hand brake hardware (e-brake)
944 hand brake (i dont know why they sent me that)
hand brake cable

still in transit:

front spindles.

they didnt give me the rear hubs or bearing cap/backing plate/caliper mount. so im not happy. does any one have the part numbers for these two items. or the parts i guess. i do need the hubs yeah?(not intyrely clear on the vdubengineering site). 944t stub axles yah or nah with the bug trailing arms?

is kersher the only people that sell the 17mm ball joints? are they off another car that i can sorce one locally?

pictures to come after the weekend its kinda raining at the moment. how do i actually put the photo on the forum as a opposied to leaving a link?

now i have to save for 18 and custom struts

i have officially spent more than the car cost

really racked off

at closer inspection of front hubs whilst taking photos i noticed the difference between the "pair" of front brakes

1. i noticed the left one was year dated 89 part 20.892.00
and 88 part 20.4691.00
the right one was 85 part 20.4558.00
and 84 part 20.4557.00

2. this is what really racked me off the. left one was missing the "piston inserts"

ive tried to high light this one so you can see what "inserts" im talking about.

also the rubber seals are missing. i feel this auto dismantlers have really wasted my time and money and im going to fry them on there ebay feed back.

if some one can help me with the part numbers for this missing parts(piston inserts?), the rear hubs and the removable caliper brackets(for the rear) it would be a great help. as they are also parts left out.

Have you called the seller? They should replace the odd caliper. Those calipers have two different style pistons and seals. I went through the different seals issue before . Do a search in "brakes" for "rebuilds".
