Paint/Rust removal
My last project I basically just sent it out for paint and made the bodyman deal with everything. FOr my new project, I want to take a much more active role in it.
What is the best method to strip the body myself? I don't want to sandblast, because I would have to send it out for that. Would just using a lot of sanding discs be the best, or would a wire wheel be good also? What about for the pan? I know the grooves in the pan will be a pain with a sanding disc, so that's where I think a wire wheel will be a God send. Thanks for all of your help. |

If you are looking to just remove the paint I would use aircraft stripper. As for rust is it just surface rust or is it rot. Surface rust would be sanding disk or even scotch pads.

How available is aircraft stripper? I've used paint strippers before, and they have always made me a little apprehensive because if the chemicals can eat through paint, then they can't be good for me.
The rust doesn't go through. It looks to just be surface stuff. |
