Hello,

Maybe this helps:
conversion vw beetle brakediscs to porsche 944 brakediscs part 2

Sleeve to use the original Porsche outer bearing (measurements in millimetres)

5. Place the sleeve on the VW-spindle. This way you can use the original Porsche bearing.
6. Preheat the Porsche hub before pressing in the sleeve (fig. 4)
7. Press in the sleeve (fig. 4). The standard VW-bearing will fit into this sleeve later.
8. Now beat the sleeve in its place using a fitting pipe or similar.
9. Place the standard VW bearing in its place.
10. Put in the seal with a fitting pipe or similar.
11. Fit the wheelstuds.

Adapterplate for mounting Porsche callipers onto VW spindles

But you really need part 1 as well!

Cheers,
Richard

Just had a quick look and nope it ain't there... However I'm sure I've seen these instrutions elsewhere- perhaps someone else can shed some light.

Hello,

Well, I've done my best, hope it helps.

Conversion VW Beetle brakediscs to Porsche 944 brakediscs Part 1

Big picture: Porsche 944 hub
Double striped/shaded (don't know the correct term)parts will have to be machined

Photo 1:
Left: Porsche 944 hub after being machined.
Right: Original 944 Porsche hub before machining.

Small picture:
Conversion-sleeve to use the original VW bearing.

Photo 2:
Make two cut-outs into the narrow part of the sleeve before pressing the sleeve into the hub. This will enable you to remove the bearing whenever needed.

Cheers,
Richard

Hello,

Sorry, forgot to translate that part.
Material thickness of the bracket is 10.5mm +/- 0.05mm.

Have a go at it and let us know/see when your done!

Richard

Hello,

Just use the original VW grease seal.
What do you mean with Performance Ghia's bearing spacers and bracket?
The only place where there is a bearing spacer is in the rear.

Cheers,
Richard

Just to give you guys a heads up:

The 34.5mm dimension in the caliper bracket is a little tight. There is a potential for the caliper rubbing on the outer diameter of the rotor. Kick it up 2mm or so.

Easy,
Lanner

I bought a brake setup from a 911 (don't know exactly what type) that was already adapted for a superbug and the part that was altered looks very much alike so maybe this can be of any use to you.
