mileage
this might seem like a stupid question...and i'm not sure if it can even be answered...but even a ballpark would help me out. i have a 74 super beetle that just got back from paint. a lovely new porsche silver. i'm buying a new long block though and putting it in myself, but my question is about gas. running a 2110 or 2332 with dual 40's what kind of mileage can you expect to get? i'm only 17...but have been in the hobby since i was born, and this is my first car. i know i would've wanted to do the engine and mechanical first then paint, but dad is paying for it all and a family connection got me close to a $3000 paint job for free. but yes..mileage. any help is greatly appreciated. the knowledge you all possess is priceless. thanks for the help. -nick

zen, wouldn't your Ghia be a better basis for answering the question?
I realize the Ghia is aerodynamically different. I was thinking the engine in Ghia is at least the same type and displacement as the questioner's. Also, doesn't a Type IV engine have the capacity to offer better mileage given the higher revs necessary in a Type I? |
