I still have a "kafer cup", and I'm "upgrading" it for the 2006 season.
I started to drive that car back in 96/97 with homemade suspension with golf parts, kerscher springs and modified shorcks, I went thru a set on Kw full set of suspension and since 99/2000 I have a full set of suspensions made by bilstein thru remmele motorsport, and didn't modified it since because perfert as it is.. It's very and, even to hard for hill races, but for track it's perfect. Car will com over with new torsion bares for 2006 and fully new engine for 2006 with new remmele heads, new muffler and 51.5 IDA replacing the "small 48 IDA"... david

Cool car David, but I am actually be more interested in the new engine with the Remmele heads . Did Eddy build the engine for you or did you do it yourself with his parts/heads?
Could you give some specifics about the engine? Thanks , Walter |

well wally it's an other deal with eddy , he sold me directly a short block, we've decided together about the final configutation, and I will go back to his shop to build the engine with him, mainly I will get parts together but under eddy control that's the deal.
i've just received the pauter machine connecting rod's, so I will be able get the long bloc done in a few weeks. at the moment here were I stand.. the rod's were the next step, and thats just arrived.. the engine is a 2366cc still a basic 71x103, with 332° camssharft, 40g pushrods, extra light flying wheel, 103 pistons kit, pauter rods full remmele heads and muffler, remmele porsche fan kit and 51.5 IDA on top, it's just the basic stuff to get 200/220 hp.. wally....

this weekend is the national VHC/VHF and saloon car championship and the fist race in 2006 should be SPA... I just hope the car will be ready.. new rules for 2006 come over, and I have to changes some settings... and that takes time, and money.. the saloon car challenge regroup's car like bmw2002, alpine renault bigbore ( 1800/2000cc) porsches, 911 and 914 some old audi 100S and other models. 2 ou 3 beetles could be there.. all with 2366cc type4 and 901/902/915 gearbox and 944turbo brakes.. thats the mane settings..

Thanks David!
Very cool Cup-car you have. Please take a picture of the Pauter rods: they should be very nice. How much do the Pauter rods weight? and what length did you choose? Regards, Walter |
