stubborn tubes

any tricks for getting sticky push rod tubes to break free? i am trying to get the heads off of this GA engine and just can't get them to break free.

Zen,

What I did was to twist them in their bores atleast a couple of revolutions, and then twist and pull... they should pop right out...

I suggest wearing gloves... I've got the scraped fingers and bandaids to prove it !

yea, that wasn't working for me. one of the guys on STF suggested using channel locks and a rag and that worked. i was afraid of bending the tubes, so didn't at first. But it worked like a charm. 2 minutes later, they were all out.
